The Study of God through Angry Birds

Angry Birds - 1st golden egg
My Sweetie and I were talking about how each one of us has our own sphere of influence and how interesting relationships can be because of that. Leave it to me to find an interesting correlation between this deep topic and a fun app called Angry Birds. There is one level in particular that struck me as the most appropriate. It's the first level of the golden eggs.
It goes like this... with the hand, grab a bird and slingshot it into the "arena" of bouncing balls and pigs. When the balls are hit by the birds they ricochet off of each other, the walls, the pigs, and anything else in their paths. The object is to kill the pigs by hitting them with the balls or knocking them over (the pigs stole the birds' eggs to eat them for breakfast).
So, my mind heard the word sphere and went straight to the 'spheres' of this level (I'm a little whacked, what can I say?). I got to thinking about each of us being like one of these balls. Some of us love to bounce into each other, rubbing off on them or bringing them in the same direction. Others of us bounce so as to not hit anyone - don't make an impact that could cause conflict or change. Then there are the few that get stuck bouncing in one place, faster and faster... busier and busier but making no real impact at all on anyone else.
Sometimes we bounce into each other and push each other away, sometimes we bounce together. One of us may get stuck in a busy-ness rut and another bumps us out of it. The applications are endless in this scenario. Then I thought about where God fit into all of this. Maybe He is the Hand that pulls back on the slingshot. The Holy Spirit is the bird that catapults toward one of us. Jesus would be the slingshot or one of the balls, albeit, a very special ball.
What do you think? We all have our different styles of friendship, love, life. We all impact each other in good and bad ways. We can't change anyone else to be like us but we can influence them by being who we are. God can make incredible things happen when He or Jesus aims the Holy Spirit at us but it can be harder to maneuver us if we are off by ourselves, flattened, or in the way of someone else.
What kind of ball are you? Who is in your sphere of influence? Who influences you most? Are you bouncing busily so as to appear active but really going so fast that everyone is afraid to bump you? Are you aimlessly bouncing wherever the latest relationship has pushed you? Are you rolling around, bruised and flattened with no bounce or life at all? Just some questions to think about. Hmmmmm....

The applications from Angry Birds are endless - and very good! Fun way to think about our lives - new way to look at old ideas. Good job!
